Cumbria is well set up for arts and crafts; after all, it was the home of Ruskin. Local galleries include Blackwell and Abbott Hall. Sizergh Barn has a good selection of gifts in its shop. Wolfhouse Gallery in Silverdale is another great place for finding treasures. Arnside, Grange and Kirkby Lonsdale are packed with little gift shops selling just what you didn't realise you needed.
The annual CArt Trail is held every September across the county. Witherslack artists hold their own month long annual exhibition in St Paul's Church, Witherslack, in September and October.
